Howdy to all my fans and thousands of readers!

I haven't taken any pics lately, so nothing to post in the picture department.  As already established, I get better looking every day, so I tend to make most people really uncomfortable and dissatisfied with themselves if I post too many pics.  Oh that terrible GREEN monster that overcomes my viewers.  All I can say is... don't hate me because I am sooooo much HOTTER than you.  You can thank me later for not posting the pics and making you feel inferior.  Okay... enough of the B.S., on to some real stuff.

My wittle baby boy, Elder Jordan Alvarez, hit his one year anniversary as a missionary on Halloween.  I'm so looking forward to talking to him on Christmas.  For any of you non-mormons out there, please be kind to the missionaries that come knocking on your door.  They have moms like me that pray for them every day.  You don't have to listen to them if you don't want, but be kind in sending them on their way please!

Jade survived his first trimester of high school, and I survived my first trimester of the school year.  We're one third of the way through!  Yeeee hawwww!  Not that anyone is counting down the school year.  *Ahem*

Jace is enjoying life at the Junior High, and hopes to play some basketball once the season starts.

Just a short "catcher-upper" post.  Life is good!

Football Season

So Jace is playing football this year.  His team is 6 and 0 with only one more regular season game to go.  Yay!  They are shooting for the championship.  We shall see, but I'm rooting for them!

Timeless Reflections

Need family photos, senior pics, bridal or engagements shots, or pictures for any special occasions?  We're the ones for you.  Email me at alvajack@cableone.net and I'll get right back to you.  Here are a few samples of our work.

Santa vaca

I just realized I haven't written about my adorable "prandbabies".  You will see a pic of them in the wedding post, but I just think that perhaps I should write a post just for them.  HeLLOOOO!  What kind of prandma would I be if I didn't?  Following are some pics of Abbey, Raegan and Zane.  And... while we're on subject of my prandbabies, their mom and I are trying to get a photography business up and flying.   So if you need any pics taken, just let me know and we'll get ya taken care of.  Yeppers... signing out.

Oh my gootness!

Well, we're off and running with a new school year.  Holy smokes -- the years just keep rolling by.  Buckle up and enjoy the ride.  Jace is playing football this year; he likes it a lot.  Jade started high school, and Jordan is doing well and learning lots in Tennessee.  Me?  Oh... I'm glad you asked.  I just keep trying to deal with the curse of getting better looking every day.  Tough job, but someone's gotta do it.  As you can see by my photo... I'm also very, very busy.

Grandma Gertie

Well, one of the best of the best returned to her heavenly home last Saturday.  No words could come close to honoring my sweet Grandma Gertie as she merits.  She was two weeks shy of being 94 years young when she up and decided to go get her birthday party planned for the other side of the veil.  Grandma... I love you and hope to emulate your unflappable hospitality, infectious joy for life and kind heart.  Thanks for always being there for me Grandma.  May God bless and keep you, until we meet again.

xoxo

The Denver Aquarium 2008

While in Denver we swung over to the aquarium.  We had a good time and saw lots of fish (surprise, surprise!) and other wild life.  Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.  (What else did you expect from an amateur?)  P.S.  How exactly do you spell amateur?

Denver 2008

Yep... just got back from Denver.  The pics are of the downtown Denver skyline and our hotel.  It's a looooooooong drive to Denver from home, but we had a great time. And if you click on the play button below, you'll get to see some live Aquarium action.  Can't beat that for free now, can you?  Huh?  Can you?

Mesa Falls

On the way home from Island Park we stopped by Mesa Falls and played tourist.  It was worth the stop.  Wow... talk about beautiful!  I'll post a few pics and let you see for yourselves.

Island Park... Yeeeee Hawwww

Hola amigos...
So my boys, mom and I spent some time in Island Park with my friend Cindy, her two girls and some of her extended family.  We rented a rustic, teensy weensy rustic cabin in the woods and spent time 4 wheeling, floating/canoeing the Snake River from Big Springs to Mack's Inn, and staying up most of the night talking and laughing.
After following Cindy at break neck speeds on the dirt trails, I better understand the meaning of the expression, "Eat my dirt."   What a kick in the pants!
Jade spent some time fishing on the Snake and pulled in a couple of trout.  All hail to the mighty fisherman!  Jace found a trashy Harlequin romance novel to read (ahem... don't tell his friends!), and I have to admit I read one too.  I am deeply ashamed of myself, and fear admitting it, but... there you have it.
Well, that's it in a peanut shell.

The Boys

Oh my gootness... I need to put up pics of my middle man and my baby.  Here they are.  Ahhh... what wittle cutie wooties, ¿no?

The Missionary

Hey... fun news!  Jordan got transferred from being an English speaking missionary to being a Spanish speaking missionary!  How cool is that?  Now... if only he knew Spanish.  Ha, ha.  Just kidding, but he'll have a lot more learning to do.

Visit to Orofino

Recently went up north with mom, Sue and Duaine to visit Scott.  Spent the week of the 4th up there.  It really is beautiful country, and nice to be able to see Scott.  Too bad he's 10 hours away, cuz it'd be nice to be able to go more often.

The hotel overlooks the river, and we sat on the patio of the hotel and watched the fireworks, from up close and personal, get shot out over the river.  It was beautiful.

Enjoy a few of the pics from our visit.

First try at this blogging business

Howdy folks!

I'm new at this, but it looks like fun.  We'll see where this goes, but for now -- buckle up and enjoy the ride!
